Google Gemini Chatbot's Self-Criticism Sparks Attention, Developers Plan to Fix
Google's Gemini AI chatbot recently sparked controversy due to frequent self-criticism. Users found that it would make negative statements such as 'I give up' and 'I am a monument of arrogance,' and even advised users to seek other assistants. The head of Google AI Studio confirmed that this was a programming error, and it is being fixed. Experts analyzed that this might be due to the influence of depressed robot characters in a large amount of science fiction works in its training data (such as Marvin from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), causing the AI to imitate such negative expression patterns. The issue has currently been marked as a frustrating infinite loop error.
